The self-pressurized liquid nitrogen tank uses a small amount of liquid nitrogen in the tank to vaporize to generate pressure, so that the container can automatically discharge liquid nitrogen, so as to supplement liquid nitrogen for other containers. It is mainly used for the transportation and storage of liquid media, and can also be used as a cold source for other refrigeration devices. It can be equipped with liquid nitrogen tank monitoring terminal and monitoring software, which can realize the remote transmission of liquid nitrogen liquid level, pressure and other data, realize low liquid level, overpressure remote alarm, and manual remote pressurization and control liquid replenishment.

Pre-Operation Preparation

Tank Inspection: Check for shell dents, cracks, and intact vacuum exhaust ports. Ensure the interior is clean, dry, and free of foreign objects.

Accessory Check: Verify lifting baskets and canes are undamaged; confirm level gauge markings (if equipped) are clear.

Pre-Cooling: For new or long-unused tanks, inject 1/10 of total capacity with liquid nitrogen to pre-cool. Fill fully only after boiling subsides and liquid stabilizes.

Safe Filling Procedures

Wear cryogenic-resistant gloves (cotton gloves prohibited), safety goggles/face shield, long-sleeved lab coat, and ankle-covering pants.

Operate in a well-ventilated area to avoid oxygen deficiency from nitrogen gas accumulation.

Use a dedicated funnel/transfer tube to pour slowly along the inner wall, controlling flow to prevent splashing.

Will the YDZ-100 Liquid Nitrogen Tank explode?

Liquid nitrogen is non-flammable and non-explosive. Rupture risk exists only if the tank is hermetically sealed or the pressure relief valve fails—vaporized liquid nitrogen expands 700x in volume, causing pressure buildup. Always use certified containers with functional pressure relief devices and never seal the tank mouth.

What are the hazards of contact, and how to protect against them?
