| Product Overview

The DCK40 is a cryogenic quick coupling (quick joint) engineered for the rapid, tool-free connection of cryogenic transfer hoses to tanks, tanker trucks, and filling equipment. It is a lever-lock type coupling featuring a symmetrically arranged double X-shaped handle assembly around a central circular port, with a weld-type hose connection at the bottom. Manufactured from stainless steel, the DCK40 delivers a maximum working pressure of 580 PSIG (4.0 MPa) and is rated for service from -198°C to +85°C, making it suitable for LNG, liquid oxygen (LO2), and liquid nitrogen (LN2) loading and unloading operations. The coupling is designed and tested in compliance with GB/T24925, and every unit is fully factory-tested to ensure pressure integrity and leak-free performance before shipment. Its compact, symmetric construction enables one-handed coupling alignment, significantly reducing connection time and operator effort during repeated filling and transfer cycles.

| Working Principle

The DCK40 couples and uncouples through a mechanical lever-lock mechanism. The coupling consists of a socket component and a pipe (plug) component; the socket carries two symmetrically arranged X-shaped locking levers. During connection, the operator aligns the plug with the socket and pushes them together — the levers are designed so that the closing action automatically engages the locking pawls around the groove of the plug, holding the two halves firmly together. The retained metal-to-metal sealing face, combined with the mechanical clamping force, forms a leak-tight joint capable of withstanding the rated 4.0 MPa working pressure even at cryogenic temperatures. To disconnect, the operator simply rotates or presses both X-shaped handles outward simultaneously to release the pawls; the built-in residual pressure and spring action then allow the plug to be withdrawn without tools. This lever actuation enables repeatable, rapid coupling cycles while minimizing cold metal exposure time during hose handling.

Comment & FAQ

1:   What is the DCK40 cryogenic quick coupling used for?

A:  The DCK40 is a lever-lock quick coupling for connecting cryogenic transfer hoses to tanks, tanker trucks, and filling equipment. It is commonly used for loading and unloading LNG, liquid oxygen (LO2), and liquid nitrogen (LN2).

2.  What is the working pressure and temperature range of the DCK40?

A: The DCK40 is rated for a maximum working pressure of 580 PSIG (4.0 MPa) and a service temperature range of -198°C to +85°C, covering typical cryogenic media applications.

3.  What material is the DCK40 made of?

A: The DCK40 is manufactured from stainless steel, which provides the corrosion resistance, strength, and low-temperature toughness required for cryogenic service.

4.  How is the DCK40 connected to the hose?

A:  The coupling features a weld-type connection at its lower end, allowing the hose or piping to be welded directly to the joint for a permanent, leak-tight attachment.

5.  Is a tool required to operate the DCK40?

A: No. The DCK40 is designed for tool-free operation. The operator simply aligns and pushes the plug into the socket to lock, and rotates or presses the two X-shaped handles to release when disconnecting.

6.  Does the DCK40 meet any national standards?

A: Yes. The DCK40 is designed and tested in accordance with GB/T24925, and every unit undergoes complete factory testing before delivery to verify pressure integrity.

7.  Why is a lever-lock (X-handle) design used?

A: The symmetric X-shaped lever design distributes clamping force evenly around the plug, ensuring a reliable seal at high pressure while enabling rapid, repeatable coupling and decoupling without tools — an important advantage for frequent transfer operations.

8. What should be checked before each connection?

A: Before each connection, check that the sealing surfaces are clean and free of frost, ice, or debris, confirm the O-rings/seals are intact, and verify that the coupling size and pressure rating match the service line. Always follow the manufacturer's operating instructions for safe use.
